About Rocking Horse Ranch
Rocking Horse Ranch is a horse riding school located a short walk from Gennadi beach in Rhodes, Greece.
It is surrounded by olive trees, a small freshwater creek to the rear of the ranch and a large woodland area that provides their horses with an abundance of shade in their ranch paddocks.
The horses at Rocking Horse Ranch are only on the ranch in the summer working months.
When off duty, the school has 64 acres of land that their horses are able to roam and run free on throughout the winter months.
Background Behind The Business
One of the ranch owners, Katy, came to Greece 16 years ago.
Whilst on the island of Kos, on holiday, Katy encountered a horse in need of rescue. After receiving some support from mainland Greece she was informed of another horse on the island that was also in need of help.
After finding these horses, Katy decided to stay and never quite made it back to the UK after her holiday.
Katy owns Rocking Horse Ranch with her partner Lee and they have been running the ranch for 6 years now.

Our co-founder Jake, contacted Rocking Horse Ranch after finding them on Google whilst on holiday in Rhodes and was inspired by their story and what their business represents.
What better way to experience the stunning landscape and nature Rhodes has to offer than on a horse ride on the beach at sunset!
All rides take place on the local beach and enter the water.
Advanced riders are guided by the instructor that is suited to their experience.
Never been horse riding before?
Not a problem, Rocking Horse Ranch also has beginner friendly horses.
All bookings can be made at the ranch via phone, all social media channels and through google.
Are you an equestrian enthusiast looking for an amazing opportunity?

They will cover expenses such as flights and accommodation in exchange for help on the ranch from Monday to Saturday.
The criteria is as follows:
You will need to be a good rider, have a good work ethic and speak English well, other languages are an added bonus.

Horse Rescue Programme
Most of the horses at Rocking Horse Ranch are rescue cases that Katy has nursed back to health and trained herself.
Katy is part of a small horse loving community on the island who try to take care of and rescue horses in need of their help.
The Greek islands do not offer much in terms of support for animal rescue, so this can make rescuing these animals a challenging and time consuming task.
On many occasions, these animals have been mistreated and abused by their owners and Katy has taken them away and into her care.
If the rescue horses can be brought back to health and trained to work on the ranch, Katy keeps them to help.
However, if Katy is not in a position to rescue anymore or if the horses cannot be trained for ranch life, Katy will find a suitable home for them.
Today, Katy and Lee continue to actively rescue horses and educate people on the importance of horse care.
