Here at Paddock Blade, we are always happy to hear our customers’ experiences. Check out this first-hand review for our new horse rug dryer, written by Paddock Blade ambassador Mari Durward-Akhurst:
My Heated Horse Rug Rail from Paddock Blade
I am very excited to be an Ambassador for Paddock Blade. I am based in the UK,and I am a 5X National Champion and a Triple International Champion (Para Dressage Rider).
I am a European Silver Medalist, aiming for selection for the Tokyo 2021 Paralympics and going for Gold.
There is always one piece of equipment that you would really like to have, and a heated rug rail was mine.
During my search, I looked up a range of different heated rug rails, but was drawn to Paddock Blade’s due to the ease of use and good reviews.
I was absolutely delighted when mine arrived. I fell in love instantly; the beautiful red color fits in gorgeously with the Team GBR colours.
The delivery was great and very well organised. The horse rug rail was put into position; already for us to turn on and use.
The rail has an incredible amount of room; one of my horses is 18.2, so he wears 7ft 3 rugs, and we can comfortably fit his rug on the rug dryer with other bits and pieces.
What’s more is that even with these items on the dryer, there is still room for boots, numnahs and my clothes.
The rug rail is slightly slanted down at one end; this makes it much easier to take rugs on and off for me from my wheelchair.
The rail warms up quickly; within 15 minutes it reaches its full temperature.
We have had a mixture of all types of weather recently; sunny, wet and freezing cold. Paddock Blade’s heated rug dryer has been brilliant, especially when it has been cold and wet.
My horses like to roll and get very muddy, so the heated rug rail has been used to dry off the horses’ wet and muddy rugs.
The rugs are always nice and dry for when they go back out in the field the next day.
The horses like the warm rugs in the morning; they have high standards! Spoiled ponies!
The horses also go out in brushing and overreach boots, which can easily be dried off on the rug rail along with their rugs.
When I train in the rain and get soaking wet, it is fantastic to be able to dry everything off straight away, as there is room on the rug dryer for my clothes, as well.
This means that everything is ready to go for the next day nice and dry; a win win situation!
I am looking forward to continuing to use my heated rug dryer, and if you don’t have one, I would highly recommend the Paddock Blade Heated Rug Dryer.
Everyone needs one of these on their yards. It is not just the horses that benefit, but also the rider - as well as everyone who looks after the horses!
